In The Dangerzone
Accidentally, our paths crossed, which is why this dominant hippo bull lost his temper. He attacked the car without warning and forced our driverguide to rush away in reverse gear at full speed. He stopped as fast as he had accelerated (so did we) and changed direction. Sort of easing off, he gave me the opportunity to make this pic. Hippos come back onto land to grase in the early evening hours. Rural dwellers, who encounter a hippo by accident while returning to their homes, are then at high risk to be attacked. Did you know that hippos are therefore amongst to most dangerous and deadliest animals in all of Africa?
