Three visits to the Painted Wolves
The three encounters with a pack of eleven Painted Wolves are certainly memorable and amongst the most impressive Safari experiences ever. During daytime, the pack usually hides in shady bushes. Normally, only when dusk approaches and temperatures begin to lower a bit, the pack prepares and moves on very quickly to find and kill prey. Our third encounter with them was insofar very special because heavy rainfall abruptly ended the four hours waiting-for-action-time much earlier than we had hoped for. The images of the Painted Wolves in heavy rain and lush vegetation had to be taken under lowlight conditions - I share them here as grainier shots, much alike in the film (e.g. Illford HP5) era.
